BLACK Cops in uniform gang raped me, says woman
27 Oct 2009
Magdel Fourie
A MOTHER of three was allegedly raped “repeatedly” by two uniformed policemen in the early hours of Sunday morning in Kempton Park, Gauteng.
Martie Olivier’s husband, Sarel, later arrived raging at the Kempton Park police station where he assaulted various police officers on duty.
He said they were unable to lay a charge of rape later that day because the police refused to record their statements.
The couple’s nightmare apparently began shortly after midnight on their way home from a braai. Olivier told Beeld yesterday that he and his wife (29) were at the braai at his parents’ house in Birch Acres on Saturday night, after which they went to a nearby pub for a drink.
Olivier said he drove into a driveway and out again as he made a U-turn. A marked police van suddenly stopped in front of the couple’s Toyota Run-X.
Two men in police uniform climbed out of the van and moved to the driver’s side of the car before yanking the door open, he said. They then allegedly threw him into the back of the van without explanation.
Martie Olivier said, “One of the policemen approached me and asked what I was prepared to give them in exchange for my husband’s release.” She gave him the R400 she had on her.
However, the man asked again: “Do you really love your husband? Is there nothing more you can do?” He then allegedly climbed into the driver’s seat of the Toyota and drove toward the Kempton Park police station. The police van followed, she said.
Olivier, who was in the police van, said, “About 200 m from the police station I noticed the car pulling off the road, but I thought nothing of it. It’s the police after all.”
At the police station, he said, the policeman driving the van opened the doors at the back and told him he had been caught driving under the influence, but that he was free to go.
The other policeman arrived shortly afterwards in the Toyota with Olivier’s wife in the passenger’s seat. When Olivier climbed into their car, she told him she had been raped.
“She appeared traumatised and I could see her underwear had been torn,” he said yesterday.
It was then that he attacked police officers with bare fists. Olivier’s hand was still bandaged yesterday.
“When I returned to the car, my wife was gone. I thought she had run away.”
She allegedly lost consciousness when one of the policemen slammed her head into the dashboard while her husband was inside the police station. There were two policemen in the car with her when her husband was inside the station.
She said she came to on a lounge floor in an unfamiliar house. Her next recollection was of a security guard who woke her in a flowerbed at Boston Business College. “He asked me why the police had dropped me off there. I couldn’t give him an answer,” she said.
After hours of searching, Olivier said he saw his wife in a traumatised condition walking from the Boston Business College at “exactly 7.20 pm”. He immediately took her to the police station where she was medically examined. Semen was found on her body and dress. She also had visible injuries to her private parts. When Beeld saw her she had an enormous bump on her forehead.
“I have scratch marks and bruises between my legs and on my body. In our car there was also blood from the first time I was raped,” she said.
Martie Olivier said she was given anti-retroviral medication to protect her against HIV. The couple laid charges of rape, assault and bribery yesterday.
She told Beeld: “I don’t remember everything exactly. I was so nervous when I had to lay the charge. I didn’t even want to go there. I don’t trust anyone now,” she said. She is, however, determined to “stay strong”, adding: “Who knows who will be next on their list?”

Blue light cop case postponed

A policeman said to have punched a motorist for not making way for a presidential convoy had his case postponed by the Tembisa Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
Magistrate Hlengiwe Malevu granted a request by prosecutor Justice Shitsinga for the matter to be put off to January 23, due to a congested court roll.
Defence lawyer Gisbon Ngobeni, for Reeves Malebane, said he was ready to proceed with the trial.
But Malevu said even if the matter could be dealt with on Wednesday, chances of it being finalised were slim.
“We have a congested court roll and It would be unfair to keep them in court. Therefore, I grant remand for the trial.”
She acknowledged that the matter had dragged on for five years, saying it would be marked as preferred.
“We apologise for the inconvenience, but the matter will be marked final for that day (January 23),” she said to the complainant, 61-year-old Walter Scheiblecker.
Scheiblecker was in court supported by his wife Cherly and daughter Monique, who is also State witness.
She was with her father when he was allegedly punched by the policeman on October 27, 2006. Scheiblecker claims they were driving onto the congested freeway from Olifantsfontein road when Malebane, who was a member of then president Thabo Mbeki's protection unit, drove into his car.
Malebane then allegedly walked to Scheiblecker's door and punched him on his left eye before he could even unfasten his seatbelt. He also allegedly swore at him and his daughter.
The convoy was apparently transporting Mbeki to the launch of the then Johannesburg International Airport (now OR Tambo International Airport). - Sapa

Targetting of Whites by Black SAPS Members
Censorbugbear-Reports has surveyed the results from the private criminology-website Farmitracker.com, launched from Jan 2010 to record specific crimes targetting minority-groups in SA throughout the FIFA international football tournaments.
The site (above illustration) has logged some 1,980 serious crimes against minorities since Jan 2010 – and more than 355 (23,39%) crimes had been caused by SA police officers who had specifically targetted minority-group members for very serious crimes including kidnapping, rape, abuse of power, armed robberies, murders... While some of these crimes took place at border-regions and involved kidnapping and killing of mainly Asian residents by a horrifically cruel gang which was protected by the SAPS in Komatipoort, the majority of these logged crimes took place in Gauteng province – where the average racial-representation in the SAPS showed a dramatic drop from 12% white police officers in 2007 to only 1% by 2011.
In several of these logged cases, white police officers also were arrested on trumped-up charges, released from duty – and then not reinstated in their jobs although they had been found not guilty of the charges – and the civil rights movement Afriforum had to sue the government to try and get these Afrikaner officers reinstated.
“Yet the Minister of Police Nathi Mthethwa is constantly trying to downplay the criminal acts of the police scum”, writes Mike Smith.
“Not so long ago the South African institute of Race Relations published a 32-page research report called: The Broken Blue Line: the involvement of the SA police force in serious and violent crime in South Africa. Out of the 100 cases examined, a full 20 involved rapes in addition to other crimes such as robberies: ‘in almost every incident the police officer sought to use his officia; status to force the women to submit to his sexual demands. In certain cases women were raped after being arrested or while in police custody.’ Read it online in PDF. Full report: The Broken Blue Line
In one year - 2008-2009 - a total of 2,134 cases were officially lodged against the police. Of that only 38 convictions followed. That is a conviction rate of 1,78% . And those 2,134 official cases are just the tip of the iceberg: the majority of SA residents are too terrified to lodge charges against the police. This became clear by Stats-SA’s publication of its latest household survey on November 24 2011

Black police racist insults at MP's husband ‘ don’t think you are special because you are white…’
– July 14 2010: Police attacked Stewart, 62, the husband of MP Denise Robertson (DA) in Durbanville, Cape Town, in yet another attack of police brutality. Stewart Robinson, 62, an IT_project manager of the city of Cape Town, had to get his eye-banks stitched up after he was racially abused by black cops and brutally assaulted without any explanations: with the cops shouting at him that he ‘shouldn’t think he was special just because he’s white’.
Formal charges were placed at the Durbanville police station. Die Burger newspaper established from the motor-vehicle registration recorded by the victim that it formed part of the Central Cape Town SAPS ‘ crime-prevention unit. Mrs Robinson said her husband was forced off the road Monday 13:00 on Racecourse Road Durbanville by the police vehicle, a Mercedes-Benz-Vito-microbus. He was unable to pull over safely there and continued on to a Total fuel-station.
The cops jumped from the vehicle there, and dragged him from his vehicle, and beat him up – breaking his glasses in the process. Eyewitness Johan Smit rushed to help Robinson and demanded to know who they were: and the cops snarled at him and at Robinson: ‘do not think you are special just because you are white’. The cops then climbed back inside the vehicle and drove off.

Mnandi smallholdings, Centurion: Mrs Pat Joffe, 76, former treasurer, SA Rhodesian Ridgeback Club: assaillant may be known to cops – yet no arrests: not even announced to the news media!
Friday Jan 6 2012: 76-year-old Mrs Pat Joffe’s mystery farm-murder : not reported by police~to news media: they first claimed she was shot: but coroner found the old lady had instead been stabbed, beaten, locked in a bathroom, the key removed while she was still alive… and then she was simply left to bleed to death:
It was only through a small notice on the face book page of the SA Rhodesian Ridgeback club that residents at the Mnandi smallholdings in Centurion near Pretoria learned that the club’s retired treasurer, 76-year-old Mrs Pat Joffe, was brutally murdered on her smallholding. The SA Police have not reported her gruesome murder to the news media at all thus far…
Her long-time friend Mrs Liz Megginson shangara@icon.co.za writes:” Pat Joffe was my friend for many years and I am trying to get her album of photos. .. The police initially thought that she was shot, as her wounds were deep, but the first part of the coroner's report suggests that she was stabbed.
Also assaulted by a groom just before Christmas:
She was also beaten, then locked in a bathroom and the key removed. I assume from this that she was still alive when she was put in there and probably bled to death. Just before Christmas a groom who worked for someone else who stabled a horse at the site, had he grabbed her and left bruises on her arms.
Pat had just turned 76 on the 16th December, but was very slim, fit and active and was still able to ride. I shall keep in touch, as I do believe these things should be recorded. No one has informed the press. I am not sure if this should be made public, or not?
We have lost several people in the dog world, through farm murders, some very brutal…. “
It is believed the case is being handled by Lyttelton police station: (Phone: SouthAfrica_27_0_12-6448600). Centurion does not have a police station.

Peter Stiff, 78, wife Fran 'threatened' by uniformed cops to pay R75 for meal they said was overcooked and dryPosted: 02 Dec 2011 10:15 PM PST
"Threatening" uniformed cops forced elderly white couple to pay R75.- for a meal they said was poorly prepared. December 3 2011 Journalist Sameer Naik of The Star interviewed Peter Stiff, 78 and wife Fran, who said they were horrified by the abuse they allegedly received from the management of the Crayfish Inn Restaurant in Ramsgate - after they complained about the poor quality of the food. Book publisher Mr Stiff - who moves around on crutches - said 'we were locked in the restaurant, verbally abused by the managers and then were forced to pay R75.- for a meal that had been overcooked and dry.'
A lawyer from Fedhasa, the South African hospitality association, says the police should never have been called in for what was a civil dispute over services. Mr Stiff said the co-owner flew into a temper on hearing their complaints, allegedly telling them that 'regardless of whether we ate the fish or not, we would pay for the fish which cost around R75.' It all happened three weeks ago when they were holidaying at the South Coast.
After complaining of the quality of the food, which they had rejected after just tasting it, the couple stood up and headed for the front door but were blocked by another of the restaurant owners. “He pushed me around and told me to go back to my table and pay for what I had ordered. "There was nothing I could do as I am 78 and I am on crutches, so I was defenceless,” said Peter Stiff. The owners then summoned the police. The uniformed cops then ordered the couple to "pay for the meal they had ordered or be arrested."
The owners of the Crayfish Inn confirmed they’d called the police after the couple refused to pay for their meal. “Neither the staff nor management laid a hand on the couple,” said manager Johnson Shou. “Neither did we verbally abuse either of them.” Shou said the couple had complained consistently from the moment they sat down. Shou said they had attended to every complaint and offered them free meals.
“However, the couple just refused to pay.” “If the consumers felt threatened or were abused in any way by the police they can report this to the Independent Complaints Directorate,” said Bianca Coelho Barata of law firm Goldman Judin Inc. Barata urged consumers to report restaurants to the National Consumer Forum should they be unhappy with the treatment they receive. Ramsgate police did not respond to numerous requests for comment. - Independent on Saturday http://www.iol.co.za/news/south-africa/kwazulu-natal/cops-force-couple-to-pay-for-meal-1.1191567

SA cops storm Nigerian consulate gate, Bramley Johannesburg - in row over Nigerians' refusing to pay bribes
Posted: 28 Nov 2011 10:19 PM PST
SA cops stormed Nigerian consulate gate, tried to climb electronic fence in bribery-row December 3 2011 Journalist Thabiso Thakal reported a startling incident in the Saturday Star which occurred on Tuesday Nov 29: when SAPS members from the Bramley police station on Tuesday tried to storm the gate of the Nigerian consulate-general in Johannesburg - in an alleged row over Nigerians refusing to pay 'bribes' to staffers at the embassy.
It is not clear from the story whether the staffers were Nigerian or South African citizens. Attached: photograph of alleged SAPS assault on consular gate from CCTV footage. The drama played out when members from the Twelve Apostles Church in Christ, all set to to Nigeria the next day, had demanded their passports back after being denied visas over claims they “refused to pay a bribe”. They had wanted to attend an annual prayer meeting in Nigeria.
Heavily armed police from Bramley police station arrived and, denied access by consular officials, allegedly tried to storm the gate before attempting to scale the electric fence. CCTV shows armed South African officers arguing with (South African) security guards and (Nigerian) embassy officials while the officers tride to invade the consular premises. Church members were handed their passports with cancelled visas. Thami Khanyile of the church said they were told “bluntly” by an official that staff (not clear whether they were Nigerians or South Africans) had been sweating over 68 visas for “nothing”.
“When we stated that we were not willing to pay a bribe, the officials reacted angrily and proceeded to revoke the visas which had already been issued in our passports,” he said. “We called the police to come to our rescue because they refused to hand our passports back. We wanted to open a case but we were advised to take this through international relations.” Khanyile said the church has lost more than R500m in booked air tickets and accommodation for the 68. “They (consular officials) told us that the Nigerian church which we were visiting did not provide them with a genuine certificate that our church was registered,” he added. “We saw this as a ploy to try and solicit a bribe from us.” Consular sources said the church members had tried to stage an “illegal sit-in” at the consulate after they were told to return the next day with extra documents. Security was called to forcibly remove them, but police arrived and tried to force their way in.
“They ordered the guard on duty to open the gate and when he refused they threatened to gain entry by force,” said a source. A consular official who cannot be named said the officers acted “in violation of the diplomatic protocol and will have to answer serious questions for invading Nigeria”. Clayson Monyela, spokesman for the Department of International Relations and Co-operation, said the department would raise the issues through diplomatic channels with their Nigerian counterparts. The SAPS would investigate once an official complaint was received, said national police spokesperson Captain Dennis Adriao. The SAPS “respects international diplomatic protocols and any violation of these protocols will be seen in a serious light”. - Saturday Star http://www.iol.co.za/news/south-africa/gauteng/cops-try-to-storm-consulate-1.1191559?utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=breakingnews&utm_source=sabreakingnews
