Cape Town - Three police officers were arrested in connection with a house robbery in Maitland on Thursday, Western Cape police said.
Captain FC Van Wyk said the three officers, aged between 35 and 39, were arrested after a complaint of house robbery was laid against them on Wednesday.
Police were called to a robbery at 04:15 and on arrival were informed by the occupants that the officers had forced open the door and the security gate.
"They introduced themselves as police officers and were driving a marked police vehicle."
He said they were all in police uniform and wore police-issue bullet-proof vests.
Van Wyk said they demanded to search the house and searched two of the rooms.
"One of the rooms was plundered and after the suspects left the complainant discovered that R3 000 was allegedly taken."
Police investigation led to the officers' arrests.
The officers would appear in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court soon.
