Yesterday one of the Joburg policemen allegedly involved in the scam stared down his colleagues who arrested him at Park Station.
The constable’s arrest has exposed what is believed to be the tip of the iceberg of a vast criminal syndicate operating from within the ranks of the SAPS.
Police say rogue colleagues have been known to rent out equipment such as guns, bulletproof vests, and uniforms for amounts ranging from R500 to R10 000.
The figure depended on the type of crime and the length of time for which the equipment was needed……
