Crimes of the South African Police Service

Don't Report Corruption

QUOTE
“Crime statistics falsified - OUDTSHOORN. George Herald, 19 January 2006 -- Police officers in the Southern Cape were warned not to report each other's corruption for lying about crime statistics. "George Herald" reports that the Provincial commissioner, commt.Mzwandile Petros refused to act against the fraudulent cops - instead ordering police to 'stop reporting each other for corruption". He showed up at the police station to probe formal complaint that specific officers were falsifying and jazzing up official crime statistics. http://www.epherald.co.za/ Petros had apparently decided not to investigate the fraudsters and instead had warned the policemen who had lodged the complaint, to stop reporting against each other - and not to talk to the news media. Superintendent De Beer confirmed that the commissioner had indeed visited that specific police station "as he does from time to time..." http://www.epherald.co.za/
