A senior Knysna police
officer is under investigation for alleged money laundering.
Police say the matter is currently being handled
internally and no criminal charges are being considered yet.
It’s understood the officer was allegedly running a money-laundering
scheme from the police station.
The police’s Malcolm Poje said, “We have an internal investigation
regarding the allegations made against one of the senior police officer at the
Knysna police station. However, at this stage we are not at liberty to disclose
the details of the investigations and due process will be followed in terms of
our disciplinary regulations.”
