The head of the SAPS CID was arrested and charged with armed robbery in the Jphannesburg magistrate's court -- for carrying out a series of very violent armed robberies allegedly carried out with five other colleagues from the same branch in April. Their reign of terror allegedly had targetted both 'foreign blacks' as well as Afrikaner smallholder families lving in the Brits/Cullinan/Leeuwfontein/Kameeldoring area. Witnesses and victims positively identified them. Beeld journalist AndrĂ© Damons reported that  six black SAPS-detectives, all ANCmembers,  were arrested enmasse last week by members of the specialised crime-investigations unit of the Gauteng provincial police head-office, who had arrived in a fleet of unmarked police cars to arrest them at their police station. Targetting foreigners, Afrikaners' homes in Magalies area: The state prosecutor said that Magonono and his other five colleagues have already been positively identified by various state witnesses as the men who allegedly carried out armed raids on the homes of 'foreigners' in April.
