March 8 2013 Reprinted from Tia-MSOA who writes: "The fact that the criminal and murderer, Robert McBride, is still not behind bars yet is definite proof that there is something seriously wrong with South Africa’s justice system. On 8 April 2011, the Pretoria Magistrate's Court convicted McBride for drunken driving and defeating the ends of justice. His bail was extended, pending his sentencing on 15 July 2011. However, his sentencing only took place much later, in September 2011. He was then sentenced to two years imprisonment for driving under the influence of alcohol and an effective three years imprisonment for attempting to obstruct the course of justice. The
later charge relates to McBride’s attempt at submitting a fraudulent medical
