cop caught drunk by residents

JOHANNESBURG
– A police officer from the mid Illovo police station in Pietermaritzburg was
caught by residents of Scottsville drunk in his police van on Saturday.
The
officer who has not yet been named is pictured in full police uniform, asleep
in the police van, with a bottle between his legs.
Jay
Naicker said, “Criminal charges have been laid against the officer and a
departmental investigation is underway.”
"We
will be following the investigation very closely," he added.
“We
will not tolerate such behaviour from our officers,” said Naicker.
“We
would like to thank the public for informing us on the incident.”
