Sex-act
cop relieved of duties

THE BOKSBURG North policewoman caught on camera earlier this month
performing a sexual act on a man has been relieved of her duties pending an
internal police investigation.
Gauteng provincial commissioner Lieutenant-General Mzwandile Petros said this yesterday at a media conference at the SAPS provincial head office in Parktown. The officer’s colleague was also caught allegedly soliciting cash from the man. Footage released by Beeld newspaper last week shows the Boksburg North police officers waiting in a parking lot near the East Rand Mall for a seemingly drunk man driving a BMW to withdraw cash from an ATM. After the man pays the policeman, the policewoman helps him unzip his pants and performs a sexual act on him. Petros thanked Beeld for bringing attention to the incident, simultaneously censuring the public for corrupting police officers. “For every police official who is corrupted, there is someone who is corrupting him. The public out there needs to know that corrupting a law enforcement officer is a very serious offence,” Petros said. Addressing motorists in particular, he said their right to bail would be revoked in incidents of attempted bribery of a police officer. Petros also acknowledged the death of a 14-month-old child on Sunday, hit by a ricocheting bullet fired by police officers responding to an incident involving a mob in Mooiplaas near Pretoria.
