Erasmia Police Evicted from their Police Station over non-payment:
Sept 28 2011 – Residents in Erasmia who tried to lodge complaints about crimes with their local police station were told on Wednesday to ‘find another police station: we are being evicted. ‘ A disagreement over new rentals with its legal owner identified only as Mr van der Merwe has resulted in the police being evicted from the Erasmia Police Station building.
The owner of the buildings that housed the police station for more than 10 years secured an eviction notice after the lease expired last month. Although the notice ordered the police to move out at the end of the month, police evacuated the building only on Wednesday:
