and vegetable shop.
JOHANNESBURG – A Gauteng police constable is being investigated for
allegedly stealing money from a crime scene in Pretoria.
The officer was caught on CCTV camera pocketing cash from the scene of a robbery at a fruit and vegetable outlet two weeks ago.
In the video, the officer is reportedly seen sending store employees outside before taking the cash.
Officials said an undisclosed amount of money was stolen.
Police spokesperson Noxolo Kweza says disciplinary action will be taken.
“A disciplinary hearing will take place against the member and we are still investigating.”
At the same time, CCTV footage implicating two metro police officers in an act of corruption is being investigated by police.
The pair is accused of accepting a bribe from a motorist on New Year’s Day.
