Police issue semi-automatic rifles used by criminals to gun down cops

Student constable Phuti Thopane and detective Abel Mahagalala were racing to investigate an armed robbery when they ran straight into an ambush set up by at least 15 criminals armed with police-issue R5 semi-automatic rifles.
