rape-accused Eastern Cape Cop
Johannesburg - A police constable accused of raping a woman in a police
station's holding cells has been granted bail by the KwaNobuhle Magistrate's
Court, Eastern Cape police said on Wednesday.
Brigadier Marinda Mills said the 39-year-old constable was granted bail
of R2 000 during a court appearance on Tuesday.
The matter was postponed to 4 March for further investigation.
He allegedly raped the woman on 3 February, at the KwaNobuhle police
station holding cells, near Uitenhage.
The woman laid a charge a few days later and the constable was arrested
