Diego Singer, Uruguay immigrant, punched in the face, rammed off his bike by
increasingly brutal Boksburg metro-cops

Bernice Maune - - “Brutality is fast becoming a dominant
characteristic to describe Ekurhuleni Metro Police officers. Following evidence
of metro police abuse in Germiston last week targeting Mrs Shantall Gopal, a
23-year old mom; this week Glen Marais resident Diego Singer, who is from
Uruguay, has also added his voice to the seemingly growing number of assault
victims at the hands of the metro-cops.”
Metro-cop knocked Uruguay immigrant Diego Singer off
his bike, bruising his leg: a man in civilian clothes then assaulted the white
immigrant while he was handcuffed and sitting in back of the police-van: and
civilians said to be ‘police officers’ then were allowed to rob his cellphone
and helmet-cam:
Mr Singer was on his way home on September 28 2011
when a metro-cop allegedly stopped him by ramming into his bike at the
intersection of Voortrekker Road and Greyilla Street. Singer said he was
knocked off his bike, causing a bruise to his left leg, as he initially refused
to stop. He believed the officers were just trying to get a bribe from him.
According to him he saw nothing wrong with his driving and would not stop
because he believed the officers would try to bribe him. He admits his conduct
was wrong. "They accused me of reckless driving and I admit I was wrong to
not have stopped," said Singer.
However - when he was handcuffed and bundled into a
van, his helmet hit the ground, releasing his helmet camera. "They laughed
at me and said that was what you got for trying to run from the police, and
that I would never put this on You Tube. "I use the helmet's video camera
in case of an accident so the police could know how it happened." Singer
said his camera was confiscated or stolen: it was given to an alleged officer
in civilian clothing who drove a purple Mahindra. He tried to contact his wife
by cell phone but was prevented from doing so. "A man in a civilian shirt
and short pants came to the back of the van to check on me. He saw me using the
cell phone, started shouting to everybody, saying ‘why they didn't search me.
How could they let me use the cell phone?’
"He opened the back of the police van and told me to give him the cell phone while I was talking to my wife. He grabbed my phone with one hand and with the other punched me with his fist on the left side of my face. I almost lost consciousness and started bleeding from the left side of my lip.

‘I know where you live -- I will come and get you if
you speak up:’
"Another officer came to see what happened and
he was told I hit myself and bit my lip to make it bleed," recalled
Singer. "Before he left he come to the window of the van and said I had
better keep quiet. He knew where I stayed so if I said anything, he would come
to get me." Singer was merely issued a fine and released. He appeared in
court, pleaded guilty and paid the fine.
Singer said he was alarmed at the nonchalant
attitude of the officers on the scene. "How could they allow that
(civilian) man to intervene with an arrest? This needs to be stopped. Until now
I have not received my helmet and camera back." Singer said he intended to
open a civilian case of assault as well as a case with the police.
Supt Wilfred Kgasago, metro police spokesman, said
‘the incident was viewed in a serious light and had been forwarded to the
office of the deputy chief of police operations. "The integrity and
standards unit has been informed of the complaint and an effort to get a
statement from the complainant and those who allegedly caused this will be made
in order to get all the facts," said Kgasago.
This man that is speaking
to me is one of many that where around the police van that complain when the
friend of the EMPD Officer Mr J M Van Heerden open the police van and brutally
assault me making the "Vigilante" back out close the van but before
he left his "vigilante" open he van again and say "smile"
and took a photo of my bleeding face and then left saying " I know where
you stay, say something about what happen today and I will come to get
you";

van Zyl claims that Gauteng traffic police officers deliberately knocked him
off his superbike and tried to kill him. Photo: "@" Thobile Mathonsi
Allegedly chased at high speed and deliberately knocked off his
superbike by members of an elite unit within the Gauteng Traffic Police
Department, a Pretoria motorcyclist, who spent a week recovering from his
injuries in an intensive care unit, is demanding justice.
Willie van Zyl claims he narrowly cheated death when members of the
provincial traffic police department’s high-speed pursuit unit deliberately
rammed him off his BMW S1000RR.
Van Zyl was on his way to Hartbeespoort Dam on a weekly breakfast run
with friends. Officers were driving a white unmarked VW Golf GTI when the
incident occurred on the R511 (Sandton/Hartbeespoort Road).
Van Zyl, who has lost the tip of his right thumb and is still recovering
from his injuries, said he had been waiting for friends on the N14 at a Total
garage near Diepsloot.
“As I waited, my friends rode past me with a white VW Golf following
them. I didn’t think anything of it and rode after them,” he said.
Spotting a roadblock on the highway, Van Zyl decided to take an
alternative route to the prearranged meeting spot.
“I turned around and started riding along the R511. A blue motorbike
tore past me at high speed. I didn’t think anything of it until I saw a white
Golf racing up behind me in my mirrors.”
Thinking the driver of the unmarked traffic police car would pass, Van
Zyl began to panic when it sped up with its driver trying to nudge his
motorbike’s back wheel.
“I didn’t know what was happening. I couldn’t turn around to look who it
was because there were potholes all over the road. I couldn’t see any blue
flashing lights and there were no sirens. I was panicking. I thought that those
inside wanted to hijack me,” he said.
Deciding to outrace the car, Van Zyl sped off, losing the vehicle until
he neared the R514 (Brits-Pretoria Road).
“As I approached the intersection I slowed down, because the robot was
red and I could not see if any vehicles were approaching the intersection.
“It was only when the lights went green, just before I reached the
intersection, that I sped up,” he said.
It was as Van Zyl turned on to the R514 that the traffic officers
collided with him, apparently on purpose, striking his handlebars and front
wheel, forcing him to crash.
Van Zyl was thrown across the VW Golf and into a pavement and traffic
light, smashing his rib cage and tearing ligaments.
He claimed one of the traffic officers from the car walked up to him and
began pistol-whipping him before shoving his gun into his helmet and
threatening to execute him.
“I couldn’t move. This traffic officer was screaming that he was going
to kill me.
“It was only after another motorist stopped to help me that the officer
walked off,” he said.
Spending days in hospital, Van Zyl is now determined to make the officer
pay for what he did.
“They can’t do this. They are meant to uphold the law, not break it. If
I had done something wrong, then arrest me,” he said.
He said what was worse was that they had learnt that the attempted
murder charge that his lawyers had opened against the officer, whom they had
tracked down, had been changed to a charge of reckless and negligent driving.
Van Zyl’s lawyer, "@"Delia de Vries, of De Meyer and De Vries,
said they would continue to argue for an attempted murder case until police
investigated the matter.
“This is not negligent. This was deliberate; the officers involved were
intent on trying to kill my client. Not only are we suing the relevant
government minister, but we are also lodging claims against the Road Accident
Fund through a Constitutional Court challenge.
“Those who are responsible need to realise that they do not have a
licence to kill and that they are not above the law,” she said.
Gauteng Traffic Police spokeswoman "@"Busaphi Nxumalo said
they were conducting an internal investigation into the allegations.
North West police spokeswoman Captain "@"Aafje Bothma
confirmed a case reckless and negligent driving had been opened.
“No arrests have been made and there are no suspects,” she said. -

According
to EMPD spokesman Chief Superintendent "@"Wilfred Kgasago, “no officer
is allowed to assault anyone, no matter what the offence was that he or she
committed”.
There
is a rogue element in police, because they have been allowed to go ahead with
all of this stuff for such a long time that they feel that they are untouchable
Let me Explain why this
article is more about the EMPD: As I’m going to show you below is some examples
of police brutality that happen and continuous happen in JHB till the group of
Vigilantes in the Police Force (SAPS, Provincial or EMPD) been brought to
justice, you all work together or you tell me that while driving outside of you
jurisdiction you see a crime in progress and you will not act accordingly,
didn’t think so. So when you say tell me this was other Police man from another
branch sound ridiculous. Cops are all responsible for each other “ One for al
and all for one “ for better or for worst , and here I show the worst of the
police force, because I been brutally assaulted by an Officer of the Law while
in a Police van injure & in hand cuffs; You will ask how did I know this
man in civilian clothing was an officer of the law, because once he see me
talking on my cel start kaking to all the policeman’s around SAPS & EMPD
alike “ How you people did not searching well, is using his cell right now”,
then he open the police van took my cel and brutally beat me, that if is not
because of all the people around that start screaming to this vigilante I will
be dead . The incident of Mr Van Zyl is below.

laughed at her and took her picture. She was driving alone from Pretoria to the
International Airport at Kempton Park on the R21 on September 22. Just before
the Engen Garage she noticed her petrol was low. She said it also looked as if
road works were blocking entry to the garage, so about 250m before the garage
entrance she drove up to the metro-police which had crews parked on the
shoulder lane, asking their advice about how she should reach the garage. It
seemed a reasonable request: “I drove for about 10 metres onto the shoulder
lane to reach them.” She then told the metro-police she wanted their guidance
and advice – but instead the man she spoke to fined her, laughing loudly. “The
other officers stood around. I started taking photographs and when they saw it,
the female officers in turn took photos of me and the males danced and
laughed. “A male officer also threatened me: pushing his head through my
car’s window and said he would take me to court if I were to publish the
pictures.”Cops arrested for Fourways rape GAUTENG, SANDTON, Two police
