woman, recently appeared in the White River Magistrate’s Court.

WHITE RIVER – The 47-year-old warrant officer
who is accused of raping a 67-year-old woman, recently appeared in the White
River Magistrate’s Court.
The SAPS member was arrested shortly after
the alleged incident on Sunday evening, July 13. It was alleged that on the day
in question the victim had been at the police station to report an assault
involving her children. She was assisted by the suspect who allegedly detained
her for an unknown reason and sexually assaulted her in an office next to the
community service centre.
The victim went home and he followed her in
an SAPS vehicle and told her to accompany him. It was alleged that he took her
to a forest near her home, where he raped her in his vehicle.
He may not be identified until he has pleaded
on the charge against him.
His last appearance was on October 3, when
the case was postponed to December 9 for further investigation.
