Rape accused Metro cop to
face internal hearing

The
girl’s family claimed the officer raped the teen in his bathroom as she drifted
in and out of consciousness.
The Metro
cop accused of raping his 16-year old neighbour will face a disciplinary
hearing said Johannesburg Metro Police Department’s (JMPD) Edna Mamonyane.
Speaking
to Eyewitness
News on Monday, Mamonyane said the officer was
stationed in Dobsonville and is now behind bars.
“We will wait
for him. Once he comes back we will remove his uniform from him,” she was
quoted as saying.
Last
week, it was reported the officer drugged and raped his neighbour’s daughter in
his Braamfischerville home.
The
accused JMPD officer appeared in court on Monday and is expected to apply for
bail on Wednesday.
He is
accused of luring the girl into his home before spiking her drink. The girl’s
family claimed the officer raped the teen in his bathroom as she drifted in and
out of consciousness.
