South African National Defence force “soldiers”

Two die in soldier’s shooting spree
A South African soldier is on the run after going on a shooting spree yesterday‚ killing two people and wounding two others‚ including a police officer‚ in Durban.
The SA National Defence Force (SANDF) confirmed a member from the 8 South African Infantry Battalion (8 SAI)‚ based in Rustenburg‚ shot the three people with an R4 assault rifle.
“He fatally shot two civilians – his girlfriend and her female friend – and shot and wounded a third civilian‚ a woman.
“His fourth victim‚ a member of the South African Police Service who went to investigate the shooting, was shot and wounded‚” the defence force said.
The soldier is still being sought by the police and the Military Police have also been called in.
