15 more charges against ex-brigadier

Johannesburg - A former senior police officer accused of fraud will face more charges when he appears in court next month, Mpumalanga police said on Thursday.
Lieutenant Colonel Leonard Hlathi said 15 charges would be added against Vusi Mdakane, 52, when he appears in the Nelspruit Magistrate's Court on April 4.
He said Mdakane was arrested on August 19 on two charges of fraud, after he claimed for kilometres allegedly travelled for private purposes.
Mdakane, who held the rank of brigadier, was dismissed on December 1 after an internal disciplinary found him guilty.
He was granted bail of R1 000.
