Ulundi - A policeman and a correctional
services official have been arrested for corruption, KwaZulu-Natal police said
on Wednesday.
On 2 December the pair, a lieutenant colonel from the Vryheid police, and a correctional services employee in the same town, approached a member of the police's recruitment section in Ulundi, Brigadier Phindile Radebe said.
"They requested him to assist them with 'speeding up' applications for recruitment and promised to pay him in return."
The man who was offered the bribe informed his commander and the Hawks in Pietermaritzburg conducted an investigation. The two were arrested on Tuesday and expected to appear in the Ulundi Magistrate's Court soon.
