Investigative Directorate (Ipid) is investigating an alleged police
brutality incident at the Lentegeur police station.
The incident,
which occurred on Saturday evening, was filmed and subsequently surfaced on
Facebook.
The video
showcases a woman getting into a scuffle with an officer.
It is alleged the woman was at the police station to report a robbery.
Ipid
spokesperson Moses Dlamini says: “We became aware of it on Monday. It hasn’t
been reported but we’ve since received a docket and we’re investigating.”
The 23-year-old
woman was charged with crimen injuria and resisting arrest.
