Question-"How do you crash on a straight road like this?"
Police Officer Injured In Accident on N3
Posted by jonckie in March 1st 2011

A police officer had a narrow escape after losing control of his vehicle and crashing into the concrete support of the bridge near Spaghetti junction this afternoon.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found a light motor vehicle up against the Armco barrier on the right hand lane of the N3 west bound heading towards pavilion. The driver who was found seated on the ground near the car was in a serious condition. The driver had sustained a broken arm and massive trauma to his head. He was also treated for possible neck and back injuries due to the mechanism of injury. The man was treated by means of advanced life support intervention before he was transported to Life Entabeni Hospital for further medical care.
It is unclear what caused the driver to lose control but is believed that the police officer was travelling down the N3 East bound towards Durban when he lost control and went into the centre medium. The vehicle then hit the bridge and came to rest on the Armco barrier. The right hand lane was closed to traffic for recovery.
