SAPS: A history of violence

RECENT acts of police brutality have put the SAPS in the international media spotlight. The shooting of 34 miners in Marikana on August 16 2012 and the events leading to the death, in custody, of Mozambican taxi driver Mido Macia have highlighted the need to reform the police.
