A police officer shot and killed his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend, critically wounded his two-year-old son, and then turned the gun on himself in Temba, north of Pretoria.
Constable Ali Nkuna, 31, stationed at the Garsfontein police station, killed his ex-girlfriend Fenkie Tlenyana, 31, and Onkgopotse Motshwanedi, 29, at about 8pm last night, said Captain Doniah Mothutsane today.

“The family alleges that the couple was standing at the gate when they suddenly saw Fenkie running into the house screaming for help.”

Nkuna, the father of her two-year-old son, chased her into the house.

“Nkuna was carrying a firearm and he allegedly jumped through the bedroom window where Tlenyane had locked herself inside the bedroom,” said Mothutsane.
“He shot her three times in the upper body. She was carrying their son at the time and one bullet struck the child in the right cheek.”

Nkuna shot himself in the right side of the head. He died on the scene.

“The family later saw Onkgopotse lying dead at the gate as well,” said Mothutsane.
The child was taken to George Mukhari hospital in a critical condition.

Police were investigating.
