JOHANNESBURG  - The Independent Police Investigative Directorate has issued a warning statement against the Acting National Police Commissioner Khomotso Phahlane.

IPID confirmed that the warning is in connection with defeating ends of justice.
It is not clear at this stage what the investigation entails, but it is linked to a probe into his property at an upmarket estate in Pretoria.

Phahlane is believed to have told a witness not to cooperate with IPID investigators, while trying to establish how the acting police head could afford the property, which is rumoured to be worth R8-million.
