6 police officials held for alleged drug offences

Seven Nigerian nationals appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court on drug-related charges on Monday.
The seven men were part of a group of 14 people arrested, including six police officials, believed to be part of a drug syndicate linked to an international network.
Some of the officers were also allegedly involved in corruption, defeating the ends of justice and contravening the Counterfeit Goods Act.
The investigation and subsequent arrests were carried out by the Bloemfontein Organised Crime Unit and the Hawks. Full story - www.iol.co.za
