Well I suppose on the positive side things, these bad cops are at least getting arrested, which shows that General Bheki Cele has kept his promise of ridding the South African Police Force of this scum. It’s a disgrace though, that it had to get out of hand like this in the first place!
When I read the news this morning about the 10,000 cops serving time in prison, I first thought it was a printing error. This must surely be a new world record!

More than 10 000 police officers were serving jail time countrywide, the Sowetan newspaper reported on Tuesday. (Shouldn’t that read "ex-police officers?")
National police commissioner General Bheki Cele made the statement at the funeral of three Amersfoort police officers shot dead last week.
Cele said well over 10 000 police officers were in jail, without saying how many had been sentenced and how many were awaiting trial prisoners.
The Independent Complaints Directorate said these statistics would be released in September. Full story - www.sowetan.co.za
