Crimes of the South African Police Service

Above: In a vicious hatecrime incident, the SAPS refused to investigate charges against 4 metrorail-guards who on April 24 2013 had racially-abused and assaulted Cape Town student Luke Turner at the Cape Town railway station. Student Luke Turner was attacked on April 24 2013 in the afternoon at the Cape Town station by four metrorail-security guards and racially abused. The young man’s crime: he had accidentially taken out his earlier train ticket – so they wouldn’t let him show them his latest, valid train ticket. Instead they grabbed him in a choke-hold, dragged him to a back roomc ell where they repeatedly beat him, swore at him about his ‘race’ and threw his textbooks from his bag to the floor. Once he managed to leave, Luke went to report the incident at the SAPS office at the train station. He was told to ‘drop the issue as nothing would be done about it’. BoereKrisisAksie picture:
