Crimes of the South African Police Service

Applause for AllSound Security!

Witnessed an altercation outside Oyster Catcher on the Knysna Waterfront yesterday. A badly bleeding man was trying to stab a car guard right in front of me. He was backed up by 3 others. I got out of there and phoned the police who would not help. I threatened the person on the phone with action against her if she didn’t put me through to a captain.

Captain Thabo (?) was most unhelpful. She admitted that there was ONLY 1 VEHICLE OPERATING FOR SECTOR 1 (BRENTON, BELVIDERE, SIMOLA, CBD, OLD PLACE) AND SECTOR 2 (INDUSTRIAL AREA, HORNLEE, LEISURE ISLAND, THE HEADS)!
Only 1 vehicle for that massive area!

She said other complaints were ahead of me in the queue. I asked if any involved a stabbing i.e. as serious. She said that it did not matter!

Bumped into AllSound in the next street and, even though it wasn’t their job, Zama Vazi (Duty Manager) and Clyde Page (Response Officer), they treated Knysna as their client and responded immediately. The protagonists had, by that stage, moved to the bus stop where tourists generally arrive (which could have damaged our town even further after the tourist mugging the day before).

SAPS = an absolute embarrassment to Knysna!

AllSound – thank you!

Update from Allsound: “Two Allsound vehicles and one of our Directors responded to the scene. Declan immediately phoned Warrant Officer Cowley (Sector 1 Manager) and SAPS assistance arrived. The situation was professionally dealt with and sorted out. Warrant Officer Cowley should be thanked for his excellent support as usual.”
