Johannesburg - A police officer and three men have been arrested for allegedly killing a man in Embalenhle, near Secunda, Mpumalanga police said on Wednesday.
Passers-by found the 25-year-old man's body in a street on Tuesday, Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said.
The constable, stationed at the Charl Cilliers police station, allegedly accused the man of stealing engine parts from his home.
The officer and a few men found the man, allegedly kidnapped him and forced him into a garage where they beat him to death.
They allegedly put the body in a wheelbarrow and dumped it in the street.
The officer, 29, and the accomplices, aged between 17 and 25, were arrested on Wednesday morning.
They would appear in the Evander Magistrate's Court on Thursday on charges of murder, kidnapping, and defeating the ends of justice.
