.Cape Town - Three policemen from Steenberg, Cape Town, have been arrested for house robbery, Western Cape police said on Monday.
The three constables, while still on duty, left their police station on Wednesday at 10.45pm and went to Scottsville in Kraaifontein, Warrant Officer November Filander said.
The three, dressed in police uniform, allegedly broke open a safety gate and forced their way into the house of a Somalian national. The constables, a 28-year-old woman and two men, aged 29 and 33, searched the house and allegedly took an undisclosed amount  of cash.
The owner demanded to see a search warrant, and when they failed to provide one, left. The home owner opened a charge of robbery.
An investigation by provincial police led to three arrests on Sunday afternoon. The three would appear in the Blue Downs Magistrate's Court on Tuesday. - Sapa
