Case of police officers accused of robbery

The police have been charged with robbery with aggravating
circumstances.(SABC)
The bail application of three Kimberley police officers accused of
robbing a foreign-owned spaza shop has been postponed to Monday.
The three were arrested last week Monday for allegedly robbing a foreign
shop owner of R9 000 and other items. They were wearing their uniform and in
full view of members of the public.
The small Galeshewe Magistrate's Court in Kimberly, Northern Cape was
packed to capacity by members of the public and police officers who came to
support their colleagues. On hearing the news that the case will be postponed
by yet another week, family members of the accused became highly emotional.
They are now accusing the investigating officer of not doing her job
properly. Father of one of the accused, Gilbert Molatlhwe, says the family is
saddened by the court's decision.
“We as the family are very hurt about the whole matter… Their faces are
all over the papers but they must go for another ID parade. I think the
investigating officer doesn’t know what she's doing,” says Molatlhwe.
The accused have been remanded in custody. They have been charged with
robbery with aggravating circumstances.
