Johannesburg - A traffic officer was arrested for allegedly stopping motorists and demanding bribes in the Emfuleni municipality, in the Vaal, on Friday morning, the Road Traffic Management Corporation said.
The organisation's anti-corruption unit caught him, spokesperson Simon Zwane said.
He could not provide further details, such as what road he was caught on, or how much money he had already collected. According to a photograph supplied, he had pocketed at least R500.
