Police van crash lands on top of car

NA PHOTOA large crowd gathered at the scene in Rustenburg where a police van was struck by a minibus taxi, and saw the police vehicle coming to rest on top of another bakkie.

Rustenburg - A female police officer miraculously escaped with only minor injuries when a police van, which had been struck side-on by a minibus taxi, flipped and landed upside down on top of another vehicle in Rustenburg on Wednesday.
North West police spokesperson Segeant Kelebogile Moleko said members of the Rustenburg Public Order Police unit were on their way to the Rustenburg Magistrate’s Court when their van collided with a minibus taxi at the intersection of Fatima Bhayat and Klopper Streets.
“There were no major injuries it was only minor injuries. The police van’s siren was on. The taxi driver said he did not hear it,” said Moleko.
The injured officer was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment.
The police van had landed on top of a bakkie belonging to the Rustenburg local municipality.
