Cape Town - Two moles on the lower back of a Cape Town police officer accused of having sex with a minor have proven him to be a liar.
Grassy Park constable Adam Adams has continuously denied having sex with a minor in 2013.
But on Monday he could not explain how his alleged victim knew about the spots on his back.
Magistrate Nomqondiso Jakula ordered that Adams’ back be examined and minutes later it was confirmed that he does indeed have two moles like the victim described.
Adams was testifying in his own defence at the Mitchells Plain Regional Court.
The father of one is charged with statutory rape, accused of having sex with a minor on three separate occasions between July and August 2013.
The victim was 14 at the time.
“I did not have any sexual intercourse with that female,” said Adams.
“She was in love with me, she may have said so that I could say I would leave my wife and be with her to avoid going to jail.”
Adams said he only spoke with the victim twice - once when she asked his name and another when she showed up at his house.
He said he had come home from volleyball practice and found his cousin and the complainant at his house.
He said he went for a shower and walked into the bathroom fully clothed. Before he could undress, the victim knocked on the door asking to use the toilet.
He explained he then left the bathroom fully clothed and went to his room and waited for her to finish.
But the victim claimed they had sex in the bathroom and that he was naked.
The case continues on Tuesday.
